Audemars Piguet - Code 11.59 Stainless Steel
Audemars Piguet introduces six new Code 11.59 automatic watches and automatic chronographs, all in stainless steel for the first time.
Four watches are made entirely of stainless steel, while two feature a black ceramic case middle with a stainless steel bezel, lugs and case back. All three models feature three automatic chronographs.
Available in beige, green and blue, the dial features a new pattern designed specifically for the collection.
The pattern consists of concentric circles moving outward from the centre of the dial and is embellished with hundreds of tiny holes that reflect light.
To preserve and enhance the depth of the embossed pattern, the dial is coloured using PVD (physical vapour deposition) technology to create a blue or green hue and electroplating to create a beige colour. The counters of the three automatic chronographs are lightly sandblasted to match the undulating texture of the dial pattern.
All watches have a 41 mm case, 10.7 mm thick for the three-hand model and 12.5 mm thick for the chronograph model. The complex case structure - distinctive knurled lugs, ultra-thin bezel and octagonal case middle - is further highlighted by the alternation of polished and satin-brushed surfaces. Water resistance is guaranteed up to 30 meters/100 feet.
Compared with the previous model, the crown is now more rounded and more concave. It is made of stainless steel and the two beige models are equipped with a black ceramic cover.
The new watches are equipped with the 4302 automatic winding movement and the 4401 movement, both of which are equipped with a column wheel and a flyback chronograph function. Both movements have a frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour) and a power reserve of up to 70 hours. The exquisite craftsmanship of the movement and the 22K rose gold hollow rotor are clearly visible through the transparent sapphire crystal case back.
Each dial color is paired with an identical rubber strap with a textile pattern and calfskin lining.
The buckle of the strap, whether it is a pin buckle or a folding buckle, replaces the long "Audemars Piguet" engraved logo with the AP monogram. This design innovation will continue in future gold models and complication watches.
