MANCHESTER, N.H. - Tyler Toffoli scored two goals and added an assist to lead the Manchester Monarchs to a 5-3 victory over the visiting St. Johns IceCaps in American Hockey League action on Saturday. Linden Very chipped in with a goal and an assist, Tanner Pearson scored his fifth of the season, and Nick Shore rounded out the Monarchs offence with his first on the year. Jordan Weal chipped in with two assists as Manchester (6-1-3) rebounded from Friday nights 3-2 loss to the IceCaps (3-4-1). Brenden Kichton, Andrew Gordon, and Kael Mouillierat scored for St. Johns. The Monarchs held the IceCaps off the scoreboard until the third period, when Kichton and Gordon scored within 90 seconds of each other to pull within two goals. Mouillierat added a power-play goal two minutes later to make it a 4-3 game, but Pearsons goal at 17:38 of the final period sealed the win for Manchester. St. Johns was 1 for 8 on the power play while the Monarchs capitalized on the man advantage, scoring two goals on four opportunities.
