(SportsNetwork.com) - The Edmonton Oilers are getting close to matching some franchise-record losing streaks, so a home-and-home set with the San Jose Sharks figures to be ill-timed. The Oilers, losers of 11 straight, hope to avoid matching their longest home losing streak in team history as they host the Sharks on Sunday night. Edmonton is 0-7-1 at home since its last victory at Rexall Place on Oct. 27. Their eight-game slide as the host is one shy of a club-worst nine-game skid set from Oct. 16-Nov. 24, 1993. The Oilers fell to 0-7-4 in their last 11 games with Wednesdays 3-2 overtime road setback to the Winnipeg Jets, who got the winner on a redirection just 17 seconds into the extra frame. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Teddy Purcell lit the lamp for the Oilers, who fell to 0-12-4 versus the Western Conference this season. Ben Scrivens stopped 23 shots as Edmonton lost by one goal for the eighth time on its skid. I thought we played a textbook road game. We settled into a building that is extremely loud and volatile. I thought we played a mature road game, Oilers head coach Dallas Eakins said. I thought we showed some growth from how we have played as of late. I believe if we can bring that game every night were going to win a lot of hockey games. Edmonton has not won since consecutive road victories over Buffalo and the New York Rangers from Nov. 9-11 and is just two defeats shy of a club-record 13- game skid endured from Dec. 31, 2009-Jan. 30, 2010. Two straight meetings with the Sharks probably wont help. The Oilers have lost eight of nine and nine of their last 12 in this series and seven of the past nine played at home. Edmonton will visit San Jose on Tuesday. The Sharks also come in having won a season-high four in a row. That winning streak comes on the heels of an 0-2-2 slide and was extended with Saturdays 3-2 win over the Calgary Flames. Patrick Marleau scored the winning goal in the third period, while Logan Couture and Justin Braun had a goal and an assist each. Tommy Wingels added two helpers and Antti Niemi made 33 saves. Were finding a way to win and thats great to see, said Marleau. Backup Alex Stalock may get the start tonight for the Sharks. He recently returned from a knee injury and has not played since Nov. 8. Stalock beat the Oilers the only time he faced them, stopping 30-of-31 shots. Adidas Nmd Herre Tilbud . - The Green Bay Packers got back to work on Friday without star quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Adidas Nmd Sko Herre . With their coach gone, they finally played offence the way he would have wanted. Amare Stoudemire made all seven shots in the first half, Anthony passed and shot well, and the Knicks shook off the surprising departure of their coach to rout the Portland Trail Blazers 121-79 on Wednesday night, snapping a six-game losing streak. http://www.dknmdskotilbud.com/. He was signed to help with depth to the receiving corps because of the loss of Shamawd Chambers to the 6-game injured list. Adidas Nmd Herre Udsalg . The 33-year-old defender has spent his entire career at Chelsea, scoring 57 goals in 621 appearances. He regained his regular starting place under Jose Mourinho in the season that ended at the weekend without Chelsea winning a trophy. Adidas Nmd Dame Tilbud . Seager had another triple, a home run and a double in a rare feat not seen in more than 40 years, leading Felix Hernandez and the Seattle Mariners past the New York Yankees 10-2. "It was a weird play," Seager said of the triple in the fourth inning.TSNs Jack Armstrong offers his thoughts on Doc Rivers, the Raptors making the playoffs, Andre Iguodala, Canadians in the NBA Draft and Raptors head coach Dwane Casey. 1. DOC RIVERS (Clippers): Great move for the Clips. Gives them a terrific shot at retaining Chris Paul and they get a top-notch coach who will handle the pressure of a big market like L.A. quite easily. The Celtics get a first round pick in 2015, and more importantly begin the process of dismantling their team to acquire assets for a rebuild/restructure. It will be interesting to see how things are handled right now with Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce & Rajon Rondo as well as the hiring of a new coach. GM Danny Ainge is a bold/progressive thinker and will try to be active if/when possible. Right move for both teams. 2. TORONTO RAPTORS - PLAYOFFS?: Think about it for a second. Miami, Indiana, Chicago, Brooklyn and New York - Put those five in the Top 5 in whatever order youd like for next season. After that, its a crap shoot for the bottom three spots of the Eastern Conference playoffs. Milwaukee, Atlanta and Boston (the other three playoff teams from this past season) are all going to have a different and possibly weaker look next season. The six, seven and eight spots are up for grabs. Im as curious as all of you what the Raps decide to do in the coming months with their team building plan. Do they try to develop a winning/playoff environment during the 2013-14 season or go the developmental route and try to acquire assets for down the line? Your guess is as good as mine. This Thursday nights NBA Draft will be our first look at what the direction will be. 3. ANDRE IGUODALA (Nuggets): Opting out of his contract and will be a free agent. The trade to Denver was a great opportunity to showcase his game in an up tempo style that suited his game. Hes a verssatile athlete who plays both ways well and hard for you.dddddddddddd Hes got lots of fans round the league and hes proven to be a valuable member of both the 76ers and the Nuggets and has the Olympics experience under his belt. Hes polished and hell be a target for teams with cap space if he keeps his salary/term demands at a fair/reasonable level. 4. CANADIANS IN THE NBA DRAFT (Anthony Bennett-UNLV / Kelly Olynyk-Gonzaga / Myck Kabongo-Texas): If you get a chance, check out Mondays USA Today. Theres a neat article on the growth of basketball in Canada. Well likely see three more Canadians drafted on Thursday night. Bennett and Olynyk are first rounders and Kabongo is all over the board in the 2nd round, depending on who you talk with. Im excited to see how it unfolds and more importantly for the future of Canadian hoops. The best is yet to come! 5. DWANE CASEY (Toronto Raptors): Announced last week that hell be back as the head coach. Beyond staff decisions, player development and putting together the roster with GM Masai Ujiri, a huge component of improving the team in 2013-14 will be how they perform/execute in the fourth quarter of games. Situational basketball performance is the make/break aspect of teams and coaches. Im sure Casey and his new staff will take significant time between now and the start of evaluating each and every fourth quarter this past season where the Raptors let a lead slip away that resulted in a loss. Way too many times this took place and it will be the defining judgment piece for this upcoming season. How you perform under the pressure of the fourth quarter spotlight in the NBA is usually the make/break aspect of a team, season and coaching staff. Control to the best of your ability what you can control and move those chess pieces in an appropriate/timely manner and the narrative of a season becomes more fun to watch. ' ' '
