Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel entered treatment at a rehab facility on Monday. The following statement on the former Texas A&M star was released to the Cleveland Plain Dealer by publicist Denise Michaels. Brad Beckworth, friend and advisor to Manziel and his family, has confirmed that Johnny entered treatment on Wednesday. Johnny knows there are areas in which he needs to improve in order to be a better family member, friend and teammate and he thought the off-season was the right time to take this step. On behalf of Johnny and his family, were asking for privacy until he rejoins the team in Cleveland. Manziel, drafted 22nd overall in 2014, struggled in two starts with the Browns this season, completing 13 of 26 passes for 112 yards with no touchdowns and two interceptions. The 22-year-old was fined by the Browns in Week 17 for being late for treatment on the hamstring injury that placed him on injured reserve. According to ESPN, Manziel threw a party the previous night that led to multiple players facing punishment, including wide receiver Josh Gordon, who was suspended for the Week 17 contest.
